What we collect
Account details (name, email, date of birth, grade level), enrollment and payment records (payments are processed by Stripe — card numbers never touch Haven's servers), classroom activity (assignments, discussions, chat), session recordings, and attendance from the video provider.
How we use it
To run your courses: scheduling, reminders, recordings and recaps, payments and refunds, certificates, and safety moderation. We do not sell personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.
Minors' privacy
Haven is for students 13 and older; under-13 accounts are not permitted. We extend children's-privacy-style protections to allminors on the platform: minimal data collection, no sale or advertising use of minors' data, restricted recording access (enrolled students, the instructor, and Haven's safety team only), and academic records treated as sensitive. A minor's linked parent or guardian can see enrollments, schedules, receipts, and attendance — not private coursework. Parents can contact us to review or delete their student's data.
Who we share with
Service providers who run parts of the platform under contract: Stripe (payments), Zoom (live classes and recordings), Persona and Checkr (instructor vetting), our email provider, and cloud hosting. Instructors see the roster and classroom activity of their own courses only.
Your choices
You can update your profile in Settings, unlink a parent, or ask us to export or delete your data at privacy@haven.courses. Some records (payments, safety reports) are retained where the law requires.
