1. What Haven is
Haven is a marketplace connecting students with independent instructors who teach live, instructor-led courses. Instructors are independent contractors, not Haven employees; Haven provides the platform, payments, vetting, and classroom infrastructure.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for the activity on your account. Minors' accounts may link a parent or guardian as a payer and observer.
3. Enrollment & payments
Prices are shown per course (or per session where drop-ins are enabled). Payments are processed by Stripe; Haven does not store card details. Refunds follow the policy at haven.courses/guarantee, which is part of these terms. Courses with a minimum enrollment run only if the minimum is met; otherwise they are cancelled and fully refunded.
4. Conduct
Live classrooms and community spaces must stay respectful and safe. Harassment, hate, sharing others' personal information, cheating services, and recording or redistributing class content without permission are prohibited. Sessions are recorded for enrolled students' review and for safety moderation. Violations can result in content removal, suspension, or removal from the platform.
5. Instructors
Instructors must complete identity verification and background checks before teaching, keep them current, and deliver the sessions they list. Instructor earnings are 90% of sales minus payment-processing fees, paid out per delivered session via Stripe. Course content belongs to the instructor; instructors grant enrolled students access to it for personal study.
6. Disclaimers & liability
Haven provides the platform "as is." We vet instructors but do not guarantee particular academic outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Haven's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the course at issue.
